Job Description

Regional Safety Trainer

Ecowaste Solutions is a fast-growing company in a stable, essential industry, and safety isn't just a checkbox for us, it's part of how we operate every single day. We're looking for a Regional Safety Trainer who understands the real-world risks of waste hauling operations and can connect with the people doing the work, whether that's a driver behind the wheel of a garbage truck, a laborer on the back of a route, or a mechanic in the shop. In this role, you'll develop and deliver safety training across multiple markets using a hybrid model of video-based and in-person instruction. If you have a background in DOT-regulated transportation safety, know how to make training stick for a hands-on workforce, and don't mind hitting the road to get it done, we'd love to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, deliver, and continuously improve safety training programs for CDL drivers, laborers, and mechanics across the assigned region.
  • Facilitate in-person training sessions at multiple site locations, with regular regional travel required.
  • Support and manage video-based training content as part of the company's hybrid training model.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations and ensure employees are trained before going into the field.
  • Perform site visits and ride-alongs to observe safe work practices and identify training gaps.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and use findings to inform training content.
  • Track and maintain training records, certifications, and completion reports for all employees in the region.
  • Partner with site managers and operations leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and ensure training materials stay current and compliant.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on training completion rates and safety metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3-5 years of safety training experience in a DOT-regulated environment, non-negotiable.
  • Smith System Training Certification is preferred
  • A willingness to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Prior experience completing Smith System Training program is Required
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering safety training specifically for CDL drivers, required.
  • Solid working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, and OSHA standards.
  • Experience training a field-based, hands-on workforce including drivers, laborers, or technicians.
  • Comfortable facilitating both in-person and video-based training sessions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
  • CDL preferred but not required.
PAY & BENEFITS
  • Weekly pay!
  • Multiple health plans available, including a tax-advantaged HSA option.
  • Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
  • Retirement Plan with a company match up to 5%.
  • Safety and Retention Incentives!
  • Paid Time Off.
  • Access to employee discounts through LifeMart!

Ecowaste Solutions offers a competitive base salary, opportunity to earn incentive pay, and a comprehensive employee benefits package.
